The students and staff members at Central Elementary School celebrated World Kindness Day on November 13th by holding Random Acts of Kindness Day. Students were welcomed that morning by signs reminding them that they were entering the “Kindness Zone.”

Every child went out of their way to show kindness to others by doing a random act of kindness for someone else. They celebrated good character by writing about these acts of kindness and displaying them throughout the school in the Kindness Zone. In addition, each class came up with a promise of how they will show kindness to others at home, at school or in the community. For example, Mrs. Heather Reeves’ 4th grade class pledged to write letters to American soldiers deployed oversees.

The grand finale occurred at the end of the day as classes tied their promises to balloons and made an individual promise of how they will continue to show kindness to others every day. Students, teachers, administrators and staff members all joined in during the balloon launch and made kindness promises as the balloons filled the sky.
