Battle of the Bands Coming to Simsbury High School

For the 26th year in a row, is presenting “The Battle of the Bands” on Friday evening, March 2.

All high school students were invited to try out, and five bands were selected for the competition by a group of music judges. Prize money is awarded to the top two bands, with honorable mentions to the other three.

This is one of the highlights of the school year at Simsbury high, and is suitable for all family members.

Doors will open to the event at 7PM on Friday March 2, and the first band will begin promptly at 7:30PM. Tickets are $8 in advance, being sold in the High School cafeteria at lunch time during the week of the event, and $10 at the door.

Please contact Laura Riley at 860-651-0247 for more ticket information.

The article says it provides information about "various ways" the community can helpRead More teachers. However, it provides information only about the Staples discount program. The link takes you to a Staples website, not to a list of ways communities are helping. In addition, statistics given are national, not relating to Simsbury, or even Connecticut. This seems like a canned article designed to promote Staples. Was it written and submitted by that retailer?
