To the Editor:
We are writing to let you know that Boot-n-Kit Canine Rescue’s first annual Puppypalooza was a tremendous success – you might even say, a “Howling Success!” During the fundraiser on July 22 at the Old Well Tavern in Simsbury, guests were able to celebrate the work of Boot-n-Kit with the founders of the rescue, families that foster puppies, and with many of the families that have welcomed a new dog into their lives.
At the Puppypalooza! there was an amazing buffet provided by the Old Well Tavern and a celebratory cake donated by Fitzgerald’s Foods; professional DJ Derek Egerman volunteered his time and helped to keep the party jumping; and a new cocktail made its debut with the arrival of the “Boot N Kitini” featuring Connecticut-made Onyx Moonshine (all of the Moonshine was donated by Onyx Spirits of Manchester, Conn.).
This fundraiser featured a tea cup auction, and more than 40 local-area businesses donated goods and services, including: Starbucks, Subway, Joe Pizza of Simsbury, Plan B Burger Bar, Peachwave Frozen Yogurt, Blue Fox Rock-n-Bowl, The Meat House, Cake Gypsy, Neckers Toy Store, Harvest Café and Bakery, Taste by Spellbound, Cookies by Design, Tower View Pizza, Yarnover, Blue Acorn Studio, Imagine It Framed, Tina’s Ice Cream, Reno’s Drive In, George’s in Unionville, First & Last Tavern, Welcome Wine & Liquors, Green Dog Market, Progressive Animal Wellness, Wholesome Animal Grocery Store, and many more! We could barely keep up with the outpouring of support from the community!
The money raised during the Puppypalooza! will support Boot-n-Kit’s medical fund, to ensure that dogs in need of veterinary attention can receive the best care possible.
Boot-n-Kit is currently planning puppy adoption events for this fall – details will be available soon.
