Simsbury Bank Managers Recognized as Community Bank Heroes by Major Financial Publication

Simsbury Bank’s Senior Market Manager and Senior Vice President, Terry Boulton as well as Assistant Vice President and Albany Turnpike Senior Market Manager, Robin DiNicola were recognized by The Commercial Record as “Community Bank Heroes.”

Terry and Robin were among the 13 local bankers presented with awards at the 2012 Community Bank Heroes Awards dinner on Wednesday, July 18th at the Hartford Farmington Marriott.

Community Bank Heroes is an award recognizing local bankers who go above and beyond to better their bank and community. To be eligible, an individual must work in a Connecticut community bank, be a respected industry professional who makes a significant impact on those around them, make outstanding contributions to their institution, have major positive influence on peers, subordinates, and the industry as a whole and gives back to the industry and the community, giving freely of their time, energy and resources for volunteerism, community service and charity. The Community Bank Hero honorees were chosen by an independent panel.

“I am very proud of Terry and Robin for being model examples of what it means to be not only an outstanding Simsbury Bank employee, but also a contributing member of the communities in which they work and live” said Martin Geitz, President and CEO of Simsbury Bank.

Terry is committed to making a difference in the community she works in; whether it be leadership in the business arena though the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Greater Hartford, Bank Administration Institute, or taking part in town forums. In addition she volunteers her time to activities such as being an instructor for Junior Achievement, student banking seminars, senior forums, past boards of Gifts of Love, Simsbury Junior Women’s Club, Simsbury Tourism Committee, Simsbury Chamber of Commerce, Farmington Valley VNA and Simsbury /Granby Rotary. Terry has been instrumental in improving market share in Simsbury.  Simsbury Bank has the largest market share in Simsbury and is the #1 mortgage provider.  It is through Terry’s dedication and leadership that Simsbury Bank continues to be considered the premier bank with excellent customer satisfaction.

Robin has made a significant impact on those around her. She is President of the Avon Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer of the Farmington Valley Visitors Association and Secretary of FAVARH, The Arc of the Farmington Valley. In addition, Robin has volunteered countless hours to raise funds and items for numerous organizations such as Salvation Army, Autism Speaks, March of Dimes, American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, Cystic Fibrosis and Juvenile Diabetes. Robin is committed to customer service excellence at Simsbury Bank and helped develop standardized business policies and procedures effectively in use by all branches.

“In these challenging and difficult financial times, it’s admirable to see how community bankers have managed to persevere in their professional and philanthropic lives,” said Timothy M. Warren Jr., CEO of The Warren Group, publisher of The Commercial Record. “All of these ‘heroes’ demonstrate remarkable compassion and dedication to the communities in which they serve.”
