Don’t miss the Simsbury Library’s biggest event of the year! Their popular annual Giant Used Book Sale will be held at the Simsbury High School on the weekend after
Labor Day: Saturday, September 8th (9am-5pm) and Sunday the 9th (10am -4pm).

Over the summer, thousands of books have been collected and carefully sorted, so that only the best are presented at the sale! The books are organized in separate sections to make your shopping easier. There are over thirty categories of non-fiction books, fiction books sorted alphabetically by author, as well as a huge children’s section. Also available are DVDs, CDs, games, puzzles and Books on Tape. A “Special Selections” section includes old and rare books plus collectibles.

Everything is priced to sell, most at less than 10% of retail. On Sunday there is an all day bag sale, where for a small price you can fill a grocery bag with almost
any book.

Many libraries have annual book sales, but Simsbury’s is famous for its organized layout, constant table restocking and efficient checkout lines. This is due to the Friends of Simsbury Public library’s many volunteers who come back year after year to make this, their major fund-raising event, such a success.

All proceeds from the Giant Used Book Sale support programs and services at the
Simsbury Library.
