There's a school in Simsbury whose roots extend down into the deepest part of the earth. The Sustainable Farm School, housed at Flamig Farm, focuses on cultivating the skills necessary for personal success through a balance of instruction, exploration, and discovery. Many of the skills, the students learn from hands on farm operation.
On Sunday, March 18, 2012, The Sustainable Farm School will be hosting a Symposium called: "Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream."
"Awakening The Dreamer" is a symposium for change-minded individuals. The focus is to assist participants in making an impact on the world around them.
It says on their website; "The Symposium is a dynamic multimedia experience that calls participants to explore the most urgent challenges and possibilities for our time. Bringing together respected scientific expertise and indigenous wisdom, the symposium experience is inspiring and empowering."
The Symposium is geared to assisting people in having a positive impact on their communities and the proceeds from the event will benefit the school.
A symposium trailer may be viewed here.
The Symposium will be facilitated by local volunteers.
Cost for entry is $15 per person. For more information, contact Kimberly Gill, Founder and Director of the Sustainable Farm School at school@sustainablefarmschool.com or by phone at 860.966.2083
