Hampton to Give Keynote at Tariffville Parade

State Representative John K. Hampton (D-Simsbury) was asked by the Simsbury Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Metacomet Post 1926 & American Legion Post 84 to be the keynote speaker at the 2013 Tariffville Memorial Day Parade. The parade will be held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th. “I am honored and thrilled to have been asked to deliver remarks in honor of our beloved veterans. We cannot do enough recognize their incredible service to our country,” Rep. Hampton said. As a native of Tariffville, I am especially proud to speak at this parade. Tariffville is a wonderful village and this parade is truly special to me,” he added. The Tariffville Parade begins at the foot of Winthrop Street and ends in the Tariffville cemetery, where there will be a brief observation. Bruce Elliott will be the Tariffville Master of Ceremonies. Hampton has championed legislation on behalf of veterans during the current legislative session. The parade steps off at 9:00 a.m. with a ceremony immediately following parade in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Tariffville.
