When he returned homed, Brittell was activated for a homeland mission to serve with the Military Policemen at the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY.  At that point, he decided to change his focus in the Army to a job that would cross over into the civilian world better than the infantry. He decided to become a Military Policeman.

After training, Brittell was deployed to Iraq where he served as a Military Policeman running a prison. Upon return from Iraq, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and transferred to the Regional Training Center at Camp Niantic. In Niantic, he trained soldiers becoming Military Police officers the same way he did a couple years before. After almost three years training soldiers, he transferred again to his current Military Police Company in West Hartford.

Brittell has described his military career as extremely rewarding on many levels. Brittell currently resides in Simsbury with his wife and their one year old daughter.
