Yale University Conducts Research at The Cobb School, Montessori

On November 6th The Cobb School in Simsbury welcomed researchers from Yale University's Cognition and Development Lab. The Cobb School was invited by Yale to participate in four research projects, one with pre-school aged children and three with children aged five through twelve.

Research with the pre-school aged children explores how children learn about their social world.  The older students participated in a research project on how critical thinking and causal reasoning skills develop.  Yale University's Cognition and Development Lab has a strong commitment to investigating topics related to children's science learning, including children's theories of biology and physics.

The Cobb School was happy to join with Yale for a second time in studies of cognitive development. As a Montessori school, The Cobb School feels it’s essential to continue the work of Dr. Maria Montessori in her quest to understand the developing child and to help provide information that could potentially assist parents and educators.
