Local farmer offers wellness workshops.

Tara Tranguch of Serafina Says Farm began eating more raw foods while working in the telecoms industry in Asia. After moving to Paris, she went full bore.

But it was more than just about a diet. She underwent changes, including some as a result of getting away from comfort food.

"I couldn't hide behind food anymore," Tranguch told a group of people who attended her “Raw Food Lifestyle” workshop at the Community Farm of Simsbury this week. "That freed me . . . I think being on the raw food diet gave me the courage to leave my corporate job and become a farmer."

Tranguch said she was not out to convert everyone to a raw food diet or radical changes but the sessions are designed to help people incorporate more fruits and vegetables and live a healthier lifestyle.

Tuesday, she offered many practical solutions and she discussed the positives and challenges of the diet.

Tranguch, who is part of the incubator program at the Community Farm of Simsbury and works some of the land at Bristol’s Farm in Canton, is offering three more in the Farm to Table Wellness Workshop Series.

Future Sessions include Examining the Mental and Physical Connection of What and How We Eat, Eating for Longevity and Anti Aging and Sugar Cravings.
