Goodwin to Leave Community Farm of Simsbury

Former Avon principal to take over at the Community Farm of Simsbury.

The Community Farm of Simsbury will soon have new leadership as executive director Timothy Goodwin leaves the farm for a new job with Hartford Public Schools.

In an email to farm members, Goodwin announced that he will begin his new job as an administrator with Hartford Public Schools on Wednesday, August 22.

"I will greatly miss the farm, and make this announcement with very mixed emotions, on one hand excited about the chance to serve the special students in Hartford's north end, but also sad that my role at CFS will be diminished," Goodwin said.

Goodwin will be replaced by interim Executive Director Mark Nolan. Nolan was the principal at Pine Grove Elementary School in Avon for 17 years. Nolan recently led an effort to raise 1.3 million dollars for the Avon Library. Currently he is employed as an Executive Coach for the CT State Department of Education.

The article says it provides information about "various ways" the community can helpRead More teachers. However, it provides information only about the Staples discount program. The link takes you to a Staples website, not to a list of ways communities are helping. In addition, statistics given are national, not relating to Simsbury, or even Connecticut. This seems like a canned article designed to promote Staples. Was it written and submitted by that retailer?
