In its brief time in Simsbury, a liquor company's "rocket" drew a lot of attention Thursday.
Simsbury Liquor Depot on Route 44 was an official stop on the Ardbeg Rocket Tour 2013 Thursday.
in late 2011 Ardbeg, a manufacturer of Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskey, participated in an experiment by sending some of its micro-organic compounds into space with research company NanoRacks LLC.
Since then it has sponsored Rocket Tours to promote the experiment and its products.
Thursday that tour included the Simsbury stop.
"It was a lot of fun to have that here," said Liquor Depot manager Sean Juliano. "It sparked a lot of curiosity."
