Simsbury Library Seeking Used Items for Annual Book Sale

The library is seeking good-condition hardcover and paperback books, complete games and puzzles, DVDs, CDs and recent computer software.

As you clean out spaces to store your latest beach books, the kids' summer reading and the spring's blockbuster DVDs, keep in mind the Simsbury Public Library is still seeking donations for the Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale.

The library has collected about one-fourth of the materials it is expecting to have by the end of the summer, and Charmaine Glew, Friends of the Library committee chairperson for the book sale, said they're still actively seeking donations.

The library is accepting hardcover and paperback books, complete games and puzzles, DVDs, CDs and recent computer software — all in good and clean condition.

Items will be accepted until Aug. 29. Bring donation items to the designated area on the lower level of the library on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3p.m.

Don't bring in records, textbooks, VHS tapes, encyclopedias or magazines. These items will not be accepted.

Mark your calendars for the 2014 Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale, held Sept. 6 and 7.

For more information, contact Charmaine Glew at 860-651-4192 or Annie Wallack, 860-658-7781.
