Marcy Ann Yanus Appointed Executive Director of the Farmington Valley YMCA

Yanus is new to the area.

 

Marcy Ann Yanus has been named executive director of the Farmington Valley YMCA, a branch of the YMCA of Greater Hartford. Yanus previously served as  associate executive director and associate development director YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she also led delegations to its partner YMCA, the YMCA of Leon, Mexico, for volunteer trainings, capital campaign consulting and exchange opportunities. 

"We welcome Marcy and her family to the Farmington Valley YMCA," said James Morton, president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Hartford. "She shares our vision not only for growing strong kids and families here in our community, but also for bringing that potential to our neighbors in need."

"My family and I have been in the Farmington Valley for just a few weeks, but we already feel at home," said Yanus, who lives in Simsbury. "I look forward to working with my new colleagues and our Farmington Valley Y families, as well as continuing my international YMCA work through the Greater Hartford YMCA's partnerships in South Africa, Dominican Republic and Russia."

Yanus has worked for YMCAs in Ohio, Texas and Michigan and was a YMCA delegate to the United Nations for the NGO conference in 2006. She graduated from John Carroll University with degrees in Communications and Spanish.
