Stephen Fries, a food columnist for the New Haven Register, has cooked up the answer to a great Simsbury mystery. How does Millwright’s Restaurant and Tavern on West Street make those cornbread biscuits?
Susan Burstein of Guilford posed the question, and Fries tracked down the recipe from Millwright’s chef and owner Tyler Anderson and pastry chef Kristin Eddy.
With the help of friend Jane Axamethy, owner of the Bake House in Kauneonga Lake, NY, Fries took on the baking challenge.
