Release: Meet and Greet Special Olympics Athletes and Adoptable Dogs

All are invited to Geissler's Supermarket in Bloomfield on Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The following information was provided by Special Olympics Connecticut in a news release.

All are invited to Geissler’s Supermarket located at 40 Tunxis Ave., Bloomfield, on Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to greet Special Olympics Athletes and meet dogs available for adoption through The Simon Foundation. 

Geissler’s will also be holding a sidewalk pet food sale, conducting a “Reach for the Stars” campaign for Special Olympics and providing information about Dream Ride – an event benefiting Special Olympics coming up in August - at its Bloomfield store that day. This event is being held in conjunction with Dream Ride, an annual event presented by Bozzuto’s Inc., the Hometown Foundation and your local Adam’s/IGA Supermarket. The 2014 Dream Ride Experience will take place, August 22 -24 in Farmington (CT). 

The event will unite motorcyclists, classic and exotic car enthusiasts, and families and friends who want to be a part of a fun, festive event to support Special Olympics. A motorcycle ride with starting points across the state and participants from three countries – the US, Canada and Australia - and 12 states (including Connecticut) and a host of activities are planned. These include a Twilight Car Cruise & Wrangler Rally, Dream Show car exhibit, Lonestar concert, pet adoptions, celebrity guest appearances, kids’ activities and miniature golf.
