Booksigning, Beads & Great Gifts!

Looking for some great holiday gifts and wanting to “buy locally”? Come to the Simsbury Historical Society for gifts that are not only local, but uniquely Simsbury!

The museum store is open Thursday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.  and is stocked with locally-produced note cards, children’s items,  Simsbury tee-shirts and hats, books, Westerwald pottery, glassware, ornaments and other specialty items.  Two of the most prized are the “Simsbury Bead” – a stunning silver bead with an engraved image of the Old Meetinghouse, the perfect addition to a Pandora bracelet.  Also for sale hand-made bird house Meetinghouse replicas , a sure hit with birders and birds alike!

Also available through the Museum Store is the Historical Society’s new book, aptly titled “Simsbury,” commissioned by the Society to commemorate its 100th Year. Compiled by residents Alan Lahue and Mary Jane Springman, the book chronicles the history of the town through a selection of more than 200 archival photographs. The captions present distinctive stories from the past that helped shape the community.  It’s a fascinating glimpse into Simsbury’s past and a wonderful gift.
