"Reconstructed Steel: Forms by Vicente Garcia" Exhibition Opening Reception
Local Simsbury Artist Vicente Garcia's "Reconstructed Steel" opens at the 100 Pearl Street Gallery in downtown Hartford managed by the Greater Hartford Arts Council. Garcia’s exhibit features large-scale sculptures made from re-bar, steel, brass and copper finished with natural rusting, chemical patinas, polishing, grinding, and torching.

Vicente Garcia’s pieces include vessels and sculptures made of clay and steel. Garcia holds an MFA in Ceramics from the University of North Texas and works as a Professor of Art at Central Connecticut State University. When he’s not teaching Ceramics, Garcia can be found at work in his Simsbury, CT studio, or participating in artist residencies and exhibitions across the state.
