This week, Simsbury Patch readers were asked to choose the best local place to visit when spending vacation time in town.
And the winner of this week's Readers' Choice poll is: .
Readers were asked to choose between the following options or suggest their own:
The is a hub for community events and the summer home of the Hartford Symphony. Located in the heart of town, the arts center complex offers sports fields, a play area for kids, the Paw Meadow Dog Park, and a 2,930 square foot stage.
The 'Other' option in our poll came away with four total votes, the most of any of the options. The four votes were split by three reader suggestions in the comments section: the downtown cell phone walking tour, the bike trails, and a visit to Tulmeadow Farms.
The performing arts center came in first place with three dedicated votes. Simsbury Farms took a close second with just two votes.
Here's what readers had to say in the comments:
"Take the cell phone walking tour of Hopmeadow St for a leisurely stroll back in time!" -Elizabeth Banco
"If there are small children involved, a visit to the animals at Flamig Farm is great, followed by an ice cream cone at Tulmeadow Farm." -Mary Jane Springman
"Bike Trails is The Best Thing in Simsbury!" -Steven Mitchell
Thanks for your nominations and votes, and don't forget to post your reviews of these businesses in our Patch directory (click on the links in blue above). On Monday, our Readers' Choice category is "Favorite Place to Get Ice Cream?" so check back for the chance to nominate your favorite.
