"Foggy Morning in Stratton Brook Park" presented itself to me as I walked the trail of Simsbury's state park. The enchantment of a foggy days poses a special challenge that dared me to see what I could capture through the lens. I was attracted to the way the fog bounced off the sunlight through the trees and the mood it created that was captured in the resulting photograph.

Even though I've been taking pictures for many years, joining the Simsbury Camera Club has given me new tools I have been searching for to communicate through photography. I am learning techniques for better pictures and new ideas for editing as well.  As a 40-year resident of Simsbury, I continue to explore with a new sense of discovery that reveals the extraordinary in familiar surroundings.

The Simsbury Camera Club is a local group of professional and non-professional photography enthusiasts. Founded in 1955 the club is interested in "enhancing the photographic skills" of members, according to their website.

New members are encouraged to attend meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at the Simsbury Public Library at 7 p.m. and on the third Wednesday of every month at Eno Memorial Hall at 7 p.m. Meeting dates are subject to change. Visit www.simsburycameraclub.com for updated information.
