The Campaign To Bring Diana Ross To Simsbury Prepares to Countdown 70 Greatest moments!

       The Campaign to Bring Diana Ross To Simsbury is gearing up to countdown the diva’s 70 greatest career moments in honor of Diana’s 70th birthday later this month.  The list of moments from Diana’s 50 year career were curated by Sean Lyons from the Campaign to Bring Diana Ross to Simsbury, writer Dustin Fitzharris, and Gregg Simon, head of the Reach Out International Fan Club. The moments were gathered by the team of long time fans, scrutinized, ranked and put in order of merit. The List will debut later this week on the popular countdown website Buzzfeed. 

      The Campaign to Bring Diana Ross to Simsbury started in 2013 to establish support to invite the legendary Miss Diana Ross to perform at The Performing Arts Center at Simsbury Meadows during her ongoing Greatest Hits tour. In the last year this campaign has been featured here on The Simsbury Patch, earning it the #1 spot on Google and Bing for Diana Ross news searches. Our campaign has been featured on the radio and television on shows such as, Backstage W/ Johnny O on 97.3FM and Better Connecticut w/ Scot Haney. In 2013 we were thrilled to be invited to collaborate on marketing Diana’s show in Hartford, CT through our extensive social media reach. We hosted an exclusive pre-sale for the show and created a promotional video teasing the concert which can be seen on our youtube channel. We’ve grown our online campaign to span across 4 social media platforms including; Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Pinterest for a combined impact of over 4800 people. In February of this year we were excited to expand our social media reach by debuting our Buzzfeed page with a special countdown of Diana’s best love songs in honor of Valentine’s Day.

       We decided to expand our campaign to Buzzfeed this year because it was the type of platform that aligned with our mission. Our mission is not only to campaign Miss Ross to bring her concert here to our community, but it is also to bring the legacy of Diana Ross to a wider and younger audience. In addition to our focus on Diana’s legacy we have are focused on paying tribute to the wonderful community and surroundings of Simsbury, CT. With Buzzfeed we can accomplish all of these things in a fun and interactive way. 

         We are looking forward to debuting our 70 Greatest Moments Countdown soon and we are already working on more countdowns based on Diana’s career and Simsbury that will come out as the year goes on.
