Act quickly to be part of this week’s 5th Annual Taste in Simsbury.
Fewer than 60 tickets remain for the
Thursday evening event, said Sarah Floroski-Nielsen,
executive director of the Simsbury Main Street Partnership.
Tickets to the Main Street Partnership
benefit are $50 and include gourmet samples from participating restaurants,
beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks and dessert.
“It’s kind of a casual but upscale event,”
Floroski-Nielsen said. “It’s a lot of fun. You see a lot of people.”
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the Thursday
night event but people should not feel like they need to be there right away to enjoy the three-hour event, Floroski-Nielsen said.
The event takes place at The Riverview and includes numerous restaurants. A “sneak peak” at some of the menu items includes:
Abigail's Grille and Wine Bar
*Chilled Baltimore-style shrimp with Old Bay & cocktail sauce
*Rosedale Farms red and yellow heirloom tomato gazpacho with Katama Bay oysters and Absolute Pepper and a cucumber floater
*Local Brie on cranberry walnut toast with apricot jam, tomato marmalade and micro kohlrabi
*Smoked Peach & Crab Shooter with Lime-cilantro infused Onyx
*Confit Pork Shoulder with fresh corn polenta and native tomato giardeniera
Rizzuto's Restaurant & Bar
*Cavatelli with House-made Bolognese, Liuzzi Ricotta
*Pan Seared Diver Scallop, Maitake Mushroom, Truffle Corn Sauce, Micro Basil
Ticket prices include all gourmet food,
beer/wine/specialty drinks, dessert and coffee.
