Expo to Highlight Local Business, Community Events

In April the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Open House and Business Expo and over half the exhibition spaces have already been filled.

The chamber announced that Comcast Business Class,  McLean and Simsbury Bank will be event sponsors with Prime Touch Services as a supporting sponsor.

"The Simsbury Chamber Business Expo is a fantastic and well attended event that McLean as been a part of since its inception," McLean Vice President of Marketing, Sales and New Business Freddi Hoffman said. "The event gives  businesses the opportunity to showcase their goods and services in a festive social setting.  McLean is pleased to be an Event Sponsor again this year."  

The annual expo will be held on April 10, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Tower Ridge Country Club. 

The chamber plans to unveil its newly designed consumer-friendly website that will provide enhanced navigation and easy access to visitor and community information.  The new design also assists visitors in finding local businesses more efficiently with chamber members still having access to their familiar organizational information with a simple click of the mouse. 

The chamber has extended an invitation to Bike Walk Simsbury organizers who will be staging a display of Simsbury Free Bikes, tandem and antique bikes along with  CT Adaptive Cycling exhibiting their hand cycles and recumbent trikes for persons with disabilities.  The public will be able to find out more about the Town of Simsbury's May bike activities including Pete's Rides, Bike to Work Week, the first ever Vet's Ride, Memorial Day Parade Bike Parade, Kids Bike Rodeo, Bike Education Class, and more!  Information on the May 19th ArtWalk Simsbury! event will also be available at the Bike Walk Simsbury exhibit.

The business expo which promotes the local business community also includes a fun-filled evening of drawings for numerous prizes and giveaways provided by the exhibitors.

Wagner Photography; McLean; Northwest Community Bank; Pro Film; Robert Hensley & Associates; Simsbury Bank; Simsbury Performing Arts Center; State Farm Insurance; Technology On Call; Tower Ridge Country Club: and, We Care Computers.  "We've had a display table for a number of years now at the Annual Business Expo ', said Ron Huston of State Farm Insurance.  'It's been a great way to meet the business community and network with the town leaders. "

It’s a rare opportunity to meet other business owners and individuals face to face where they walk away knowing we are a top notch company and would be comfortable giving us their business," Margi Jakubowski said. Jakubowski is a  Benefit Specialist at Robert Hensley & Associates and long-time exhibitor at the expo.

Guests will enjoy a delicious supper menu of a three varieties of pasta, garlic bread and Caesar salad; an Italian Antipasto station; a Harvest Table with variety of homemade stuffed breads; and, a "Chef's Choice" dessert station.  A cash bar will be available.  Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door.
