Locally Made: Wild Carrot Farm Tomato Sauce and Salsa

Organic sauce and salsa is made from produce grown locally at Wild Carrot Farm in Canton.

When life handed them tomatoes, and lots of them, Mark Palladino and Joanie Guglielino of Wild Carrot Farm in Canton decided they needed to find a way to preserve the bounty of organic produce they were growing.

First, the pair ventured into manufacturing Wild Carrot Farm Organic Tomato Sauce, which earned them a third place award in 2011 from the Connecticut Specialty Food Association.

Next they crafted their own Organic Salsa, which earned them a second place award in 2012, also from the Connecticut Specialty Food Association.

This year, Wild Carrot Farm is hoping for a first place award for Guglielino's heirloom tomato sauce.

For more information visit the Wild Carrot Farm website or visit the farm store at 541 Albany Turnpike in Canton.

The article says it provides information about "various ways" the community can helpRead More teachers. However, it provides information only about the Staples discount program. The link takes you to a Staples website, not to a list of ways communities are helping. In addition, statistics given are national, not relating to Simsbury, or even Connecticut. This seems like a canned article designed to promote Staples. Was it written and submitted by that retailer?
