Subway Now Reopen in Simsbury Town Shops

The Subway restaurant in the Simsbury Town Shops is now reopen.

It had been closed earlier this month when the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services suspended the sales tax permit for Northwestern Foods Inc. for non-payment of sales tax of approximately $312,000, state officials said.

Last week Kenneth W. Crocker, who is president of Northwestern Foods Inc., said he planed to reopen and Sarah Kaufman, communications director for the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services, said that could happen once the DRS made a payment agreement with the owner.

Tuesday afternoon Kaufman confirmed that had happened and the restaurant could legitimately conduct business.
