Once again West Street Wines and Spirits, 131 West St., is a Button Up Connecticut drop off location for the month of December.
Those with lightly used winter coats and can bring them down during normal business hours.
"We started participating four years ago to do something special and unique during the holiday season," said owner/operator James Pabich. "This is a particularly tough time for many with a slowly recovering economy."
Button Up Connecticut's mission is to collect clean, new and gently used coats and distribute them to residents in need all across Connecticut. The coats are received from various companies, schools, churches and other organizations throughout the state who run their own coat drives and donate the coats they receive to Button Up Connecticut for distribution.
"We've gotten so much positive feedback every holiday season from our customers who ask about the drive months before it begins, Pabich added. "It has grown for us and we end up collecting several hundred coats every year."
Store hours are:
Monday through Thursday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sunday: noon to 5 p.m.
