Balanced Legislature

Where was the debate?

If you've been to my website or read my campaign literature "Balanced Legislature - fosters debate and compromise" is one of the top reasons why I'm running as the Republican candidate for State Representative.

Evidenced by the recent special session, the super majority presented two bills totaling 660 pages, 173 sections covering 111 issues, 40 of which never got a hearing.  Legislators had two choices, vote "yes" or vote "no", no debate, no compromise.  Common sense tells me that there is something wrong with the way we are doing business in Connecticut.

I'm asking voters in Simsbury to help me balance the state legislature by voting for me in November.  I have business experience, understand the challenges of our small businesses, pay way too much in taxes, support my community and I have a reputation of working with people of differing points of view to find a common ground.

I am a candidate who is willing to offer solutions and compromise.  Rather than attack and heckle one another during the campaign process, let's encourage candidates to offer their experiences, ideas and solutions to help Connecticut get back on her feet again.

The article says it provides information about "various ways" the community can helpRead More teachers. However, it provides information only about the Staples discount program. The link takes you to a Staples website, not to a list of ways communities are helping. In addition, statistics given are national, not relating to Simsbury, or even Connecticut. This seems like a canned article designed to promote Staples. Was it written and submitted by that retailer?
