Candidate Charity Folk, State Representative

An exciting and memorable journey

Last November I told my husband Mike that I could no longer complain about the state of affairs in Connecticut and that I intended to run for the republican candidate for State Representative.  With more than a little surprise, he said he was "all in".

Since that time I have met so many wonderful people who have been more than generous with their time in helping me navigate the intricacies of running for political office, especially for the first time.

From Moira Wertheimer who was the first to encourage me to run (and who is my Campaign Chairman) to members of the Simsbury Republican Town Committee, to my treasurer Jackie Battos and Mike Paine (Deputy Treasurer), State Representative Larry Cafero and his great team at the State Capitol, Sean Askham and his family, Nancy Haase, Greg Piecuch, Barbara Petitjean, Angela Campetti and Paul Cocchi, Peter Pabich, the Simsbury Republican Women's Club and to many unnamed - I have great gratitude.  To all of my generous fundraising contributors and the energized Republican voters that I met at the presidential primary in April, I hear you. Yes, change is needed.

This week I will be attending my first Simsbury Repbulican Caucus for a place on the November ballot.  As we head into Memorial Day this weekend to remember the sacrifices of so many on our behalf I can't help but acknoweldge what a great country we live in that the "every woman" has the privilege of being able to wake up one day and say "I am going to run for office".

I look forward to bringing you more information about my qualifications and encourage you to visit my website - www.charityforsimsbury.com
