I will be pretty much living at the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center this weekend. Its Septemberfest, a right of passage for those returning from summer vacations to our transition to fall. The weekend will be filled with fun, food, fireworks, children's entertainment, live bands and the ever popular Business Expo.
As a candidate this year, I'll be in the Simsbury Republican Town Committee booth where I invite you to stop by and meet me as well as other republican candidates in this year's election. I look forward to talking to you about my views, background, work experience and any other topic you want to discuss.
Thank you to the hundreds of voters I've called inviting you to meet there. You've been very kind in taking my calls and generous with your time.
If you don't see me in the Simsbury Republican Town Committee booth on Saturday you can find me at the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce Home Improvment Show. The show is packed with home improvement contractors and home improvement businesses eager to help you with home projects. I would be remiss if I didn't take a moment to not only thank the exhibitors but the wonderful sponsors who underwrite this event, now in its fifth year. Look for the the Home Improvement Show sponsor banner.
You know by now that I am the full-time executive director at the Chamber of Commerce, celebrating my 20th anniversay this summer. The Home Improvement Committee works hard to bring you the event and spends time and precious money on publicity and signage announcing the Home Improvement Show to local residents.
This year the chamber had a number of Home Improvement Show signs that were taken. All chamber signs have approvals and permits from the town. I ask that you respect not only the hard work of all the non-profits in town who use signage for promotion but the election season is here and political signs will soon appear.
Please think twice before removing signs and help all candidates after the elections by picking up stray signs. It's a big job for all candidates to manage and I know for a fact that all candidates would like to get their signs put away as soon after election day as you would.
