I took most of the July 4th week off to be with my family and enjoy our beautiful Connecticut shore. We're so fortunate to live in a State with Long Island Sound so close by.
For the past 5 years, Mike and I have joined the Sound View July 4th parade in Old Lyme where everyone is invited to participate. Very Norman Rockwell and a lot of fun.
With some time off to recharge my batteries it is back on the campaign trail. Last night Sharon and Leroy Lawson and Angela Campetti and Paul Cocchi co-hosted a house party for me at the beautiful Lawson home. I met some new Simsbury residents, some long time Simsbury residents and an aquaintance I hadn't seen in a number of years since our kids were in high school together.
Their concerns are my concerns. High taxes, overspending and the cost of doing business will drive companies out of the State. I asked for their support, and yours, so that I can bring this message to our State Legislature.
