The weather cleared yesterday afternoon so I decided to put on my sneakers (I now keep them in my car) and "knock on doors". I found quite a few families at home and was able to have a short dialogue with a a number of residents.
Besides State spending, which is a recurring theme, I am also starting to hear the frustration of entitlement programs that don't empower individuals to find their own solutions.
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for the day, teach a man to fish and he will help feed a village." (my version of the saying) We seem to have lost sight of the joy and accomplishment of working for our goals. Reminding ourselves, our children, our co-workers, our legislators is not a bad idea.
