Don't forget to support the efforts of a group of SHS students who are working to build a Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial in Simsbury. They need to raise $200,000 to make this happen. For more information visit the MLK in CT website.

The Bell Library Gallery at Ethel Walker School has a new exhibit of works by Ruth Jacobson and Joan Kantor. A reception for the artist and the poet will be in the library gallery  on  Friday, Sept 21 from 4 - 7 p.m.

The Simsbury Public Library is hosting a 3-part series commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Today Phil Smith, former educator, U.S. Air Force veteran, and Civil War enthusiast will discuss the military use of hot air balloons during the American Civil War. This is a free program that runs from 7 to 8 p.m.
