Firetown Road Closure Planned for Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011

A construction project will require the complete closure of Firetown Road, between Northgate and Old Farms Road.

This notice is to advise residents that a construction project on Thursday, September 29 will require the complete closure of Firetown Road, between Northgate and Old Farms Road, from early morning to late evening.

The purpose of this road closure is to install a replacement of the stream crossing culvert, located between houses #507 and #511 Firetown Road. The existing undersized, deteriorated pipe will be replaced with a pre-cast 48’ long by 4’ high by 12’ wide, box culvert.
With added width and tapered ends, the new culvert will improve water flow, discourage beaver activity, and increase automobile and pedestrian safety.

The plan is to have at least one lane alternating traffic on Friday, September 30; however, if any unexpected situations develop, complete closure may occur on part of the day on September 30.
