Simsbury bike enthusiasts should pull up a bar stool at the tonight for the Bike Sculpture Fundraiser event tonight at 5:30 p.m. There will be a guest bartender serving up drinks and a portion of the proceeds will go towards purchasing the bike sculpture crafted by local artist Vicente Garcia. Donations will also be accepted.

For the local history buffs, the Salmon Brook Historical Society is presenting the second part of a three part Lecture Series on the Civil War tonight at 6:45 p.m. Tonight's presentation will be The Words of Granby's Civil War Soldiers and Families. Local residents will bring to life original letters and diaries written by Granby soldiers and their families. The event will be held at the workshop at Holcomb Farm in West Granby and admission at the door is $5.
