The Simsbury Newcomers Club is hosting a second open house event this morning from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Simsbury Public Library. It's time for the Simsbury Retired Men's Luncheon and speaker program. Today's lunch will be followed by a talk by Susan Sturtevant on "Hillstead Wonders."  The Simsbury Retired Men's Luncheon program meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from September through May in the fellowship hall (Palmer Hall) on the lower level of the First Church of Christ.

The Simsbury Free Library Book & Movie Series is hosting a book club event today at 1 p.m. The club will review the book “A Very Private Woman: The Life and Unsolved Murder of Presidential Mistress Mary Meyer” by Nina Burleigh.
