There's always room for improvement, and the Simsbury Public Library English Conversation Group for adults aims to help anyone wishing to improve their spoken English. Classes will be held Tuesday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the Friends Café on the upper level of the Library. Simsbury women interested in learning how to protect themselves in a dangerous situation should check out the Female Self-Defense Clinic tonight at Eno Memorial Hall. Jukido Instructors Mark and Michael Goldfarb from the Simsbury Jukido Dojo are offering the course tonight at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $10 and the class size is limited. Register by calling 860-658-3836.

Today would be a perfect day to check out the Cell Phone Tour of downtown Simsbury. The one-hour tour is narrated by First Selectwoman Mary A. Glassman and will lead you to 11 local sites known for their architectural or historic value. To take the tour dial 860-323-9029 and start walking. The program is offered through the Simsbury Senior Center and is completely free- with the exception of your cell phone bill.
