Thanks, Anonymous reader! We adopted Rudy about a month ago. He's pretty amazing!

Love Rudy!!! Thanks for adopting him!! We are coming in with around 28 inches. I measured an area where there aren't many drifts and it was consistent. Of course I think it is hard to get an accurate measurement. Another storm predicted for Friday! UGH!!!

Low area in North Simsbury is 30". Much deeper in drifted areas.

The "official" measurement is 32". All I know is that it was higher than my snow blower by at least 3-4".

Hard to get an acurate measurment but i believe we received 23"at our house, near Squadron line school. Its beautiful but not a fun snow to play in,we couldnt build a snowman, make snowballs or forts. My three and half yr old will try again today! Before the rain comes and totally ruins it:(Dont forget to try and clear rooftops before rain arrives.

I lived in Simsbury during the blizzard of '78 and now live in N.C. I like seeing the pictures of this storm, wish I could be there to enjoy the snow, BUT do not miss the shoveling.

I just want to add, that with all the snow that we did have in Simsbury, the snowplow drivers did an amazing job! Many thanks to all their hard work and effort! This was a lot of snow to push an handle no matter what part of the town you were in. Looking at the other towns that are still snowed in today... we are truly blessed!

I TOTALLY AGREE!

Kat - thank you for mentioning this! Based on the excellent job that the town did in keeping the roads clear, I could have left my home yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, it took me two days to clear my driveway so that I could reach the street. :-(
