The Simsbury Newcomer's Club is hosting an Open House tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the Simsbury Public Library. Learn more about the Simsbury Newcomers Club and its daytime and evening activities and interest groups, including paddle tennis, men’s night out, toddlers’ playgroup, bridge, bunko, pinochle, a walking group, book discussions, and needlework group.  Social activities are also held throughout the year, including potluck dinners, wine & women, couples groups, holiday parties, and charity fundraisers.

The Simsbury Free Library Book and Movie series continues today with a book club event.  “A Very Private Women: The Life and Unsolved Murder of Presidential Mistress Mary Meyer” by Nina Burleigh - Tuesday, September 11, 1:00 p.m. Programs are free to members, $5 per program for non-members.  New members are welcome any time ($20 annual fee).  Anyone may sign up for the SFL’s email notifications to receive event reminders and monthly newsletters.

Parlez-vous francais? Why not join the Conversational French Class at the  and refresh your memory or prepare for your next trip. The library is offering a free series of classes. Meet with Monsieur Christian Gaborit, native French speaker from 6:30-7:30 on Monday evenings in the Friends Cafe at the library.
