Summer Camps, Storytime, and a Flea Circus?

5 things you need to know about Simsbury on Friday, June 22, 2012.

Good morning Simsbury! Today is Friday, June 22, 2012 and there are 192 days left in the year.

Today's Weather: We may get a short break from the heat today, and I emphasize the word short. There's a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service daily forecast. Otherwise it will be partly sunny with a high near 93 degrees.

Tonight: Chance of showers and thunderstorms late tonight. Otherwise mostly cloudy with an overnight low around 65 degrees.

After the heat wave we saw this week, now might be a good time to sign up for Summer Day Camps with the Simsbury Recreation Department. There's eight weeks of swimming lessons offered at both and Memorial Pool in addition to a host of other camps. Check out our calendar listing for a complete list.

Looking for a way to escape the heat with the kids today? Swing by the Simsbury Public Library for Terrific Two's storytime- there's air conditioning there! The library is hosting a special storytime for two year-olds and their parents or caregivers. Read stories, sing songs, play games, and enjoy some music this morning in the Discovery Room at the library. This event is free and you can just drop-in. For more information call 658-7663.

Ever been to a flea circus? Well, this might be more interesting. Take a drive over to Collinsville to check out the Flea Circus Art Show and see some work by Connecticut Artist Chris Brown. The show opens tonight at 6 p.m.

The article says it provides information about "various ways" the community can helpRead More teachers. However, it provides information only about the Staples discount program. The link takes you to a Staples website, not to a list of ways communities are helping. In addition, statistics given are national, not relating to Simsbury, or even Connecticut. This seems like a canned article designed to promote Staples. Was it written and submitted by that retailer?
