It's summertime, which means local farms are once again serving up the freshest produce around. Check out the East Granby Farmers Market today at 3:30 p.m. and support your local growers. Proceeds from the vendor's fees go towards supporting the East Granby Public Library. And if you can't get enough fresh, local produce, there's also the Simsbury Farmers Market on Thursday.

The Sunken Garden Poetry Festival in Farmington continues tonight with a special visit from U. S. Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with music and poetry from several other performers. Grab your blanket, some food, and a bottle of wine and head to the Hill-Stead Museum. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and admission is $5 per person.

The Simsbury Community Band Summer Concert Series continues with another great night of pop, classical and show tunes performed at Simsbury Farms. The concerts are free and open to the public. The concert starts at 7 p.m. and remember to bring your own comfortable chairs.
