At approximately 9 a.m. Saturday morning a water main break occurred on Hopmeadwow St. at the Avon and Simsbury town line.
There was no answer at the Avon Water Co., but Avon Police confirmed the break and said that residents in both Simsbury and Avon, serviced by Avon Water Co., will be without running water for eight to 10 hours while crews are working on repairing the line.
