Who's Simsbury's Person of the Year?

TIME magazine named President Obama their person of the year for the second time. Tell us who you think should win from our town!

On Dec. 19, Time magazine named President Obama their Person of the Year, again!

The magazine invited votes on 40 candidates, including the president, Gabby Douglas and Kim Jong Un. Other options included The Mars Rover and the Higgs Boson Particle, Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi, and Apple CEO Tim Cook. But, the president took the title again four years after he first won the award as president-elect in 2008.

But who cares about the same-old, same-old? Who is Simsbury’s Person of the Year—the man or woman who, in Timespeak, “most influenced the news this year for better or worse”?

Tell us your pick in the comment section below!

Lisa Heavner. She really cares about every person in this town and works tirelessly without expectation of reward. She is the example that all politicians should follow!

Why must the Simsbury good old boys and girls control everything that goes on in our fair town from the cradle to the grave we had Tom Vincent, from the board of Selectman, Kevin North from the Fire people who vote, ,and lets not forget Paul Henault and his lobby the board of education, and then our Mary A. Glassman We had Bob Heagney who they threw out but will not let go who help give us that rotten new good all boys Town Charter .so lets stop it now pushing the same old hacks and party attack dogs you know who they are just look at the Board of Selectman appointments and follow the town money give away and to who and the state is now paying the highest Gas prices in the nation state fees and taxes all have gone higher the Connecticut Legislature has been sting buy the F.B.I. and the feds arrested the ex speakers campaign people for selling a tobacco Bill down the river so with whats is going on in Government State or local lets stop it when you see a politician pass a note and then a board member changes the tune of the debate Simsbury wake up your being had.The person who tells the Town how it is and is honest with Simbury is Joan Coe say what you will my vote and the towns goes to MS Joan Coe

I truly don't think this should be a politician but a volunteer in our community. I think the entire volunteer firefighter crew - they are a wonderful group of our neighbors, and not getting paid for their dedication to the numerous calls. Ever since 2011 August's major flooding, then the huge October 2011 snow storm, and everything since then, they always are professional and honestly concerned. From the simplest call to a devastating car crash, they are there. I have no affiliation with them, except seeing them working one minute, and then off to a call the next. It takes a certain person and dedication to do what they do. Owning a business downtown, we see them at all times of day and night responding to calls.
