Winter Returns to Simsbury

Advisory issued beginning at 2 a.m. Saturday.

 

Thursday night's dusting was just a prelude to a larger storm which is forecast to coat the region with 4-8 inches of snow.

A winter weather advisory takes effect beginning at 2 a.m., with snow continuing throughout Saturday. High temperatures are forecast to reach only 25° on Saturday, so melting is unlikely. North winds at 5-10 miles per hour are expected.

The state Department of Motor Vehicles is canceling all branch office road tests on Saturday, Jan. 21 due to expected inclement weather and poor road conditions. Anyone with a scheduled road test can call DMV to choose a new date. The numbers to call are 860-263-5700 if someone is within the Hartford area and toll-free 800-842-8222 for those outside the Hartford area. DMV is also attempting to contact customers with road test appointments to advise them of the schedule change.
