Republican Mike Paine is seeking a seat on the Simsbury Board of Selectmen

Graduated Simsbury High School 1972.  Several college classes taken at local area colleges

Work experience

I have worked at Paine’s Incorporated since 1972 in a variety of positions: helper, driver, sales, manager and President for the last 26 years.  Paine’s has always been and remains a family owned business. We are working to bring in the 4th generation and then set them up to succeed.

Why are you seeking office?

I am running for a seat on the Town Board of Selectman to offer and share my life and business experiences to help the Town prepare itself for the future successes and challenges.  

What experience do you bring to the table?

I have lived in Town my entire life.  Throughout the years, I have been involved with various local organizations from the Simsbury Crew Team, Simsbury Community Television, Voting machine mechanic, McLean’s and Simsbury Planning Commission.  During the day at Paine’s, I have worked with customers large and small to resolve challenges. I have been involved in growing Paine’s from a 3 truck local company to a regional company that has over 60 vehicles and services thousands of homes, hundreds of businesses and have remained true to our roots of taking care of our customer …. one customer at a time.

What do you feel is the town's most pressing issue?

Looking forward with a plan to balance our revenues with our expenses and following that plan instead of reacting.

What do you love most about town?

Simsbury is a special place where our diversity and location are both our strength and our challenge.  

What do you like to do for fun?

Spend time with my family, fly fishing, golfing, challenging others to do their best and enjoy life.
