Why are you seeking office?

I would like to continue my public service to Simsbury and use my 8 years experience on the Board of Selectmen to help manage and plan Simsbury's fiscal future.

What experience do you bring to the table?

I bring my 8 years of experience on the Simsbury Board of Selectmen to the "table." In addition, I served for numerous years on the Simsbury Aging and Disability Commission and was elected to the Simsbury Zoning Board of Appeals. My local government experience allows me to understand the critical budget issues and needs faced by Simsbury, particularly in light of the significant loss of tax revenue resulting from The Hartford relocating out of Simsbury to Windsor. Most importantly, my role as a nurse, mother and community member gives me the experience of working with others to solve problems and work toward common goals.

What do you feel is the town's most pressing issue?

Simsbury's most pressing issue is our ability to attract appropriate economic development in order to continue to fund our high quality municipal services.  Moreover, the loss of several businesses in Town combined with The Hartford's relocation to Windsor make planning for and managing Simsbury's financial health more important than ever.
