Meet the Candidate: Robert Kulakowski For Simsbury Planning

Republican Robert Kulakowski is running for the Simsbury Planning Commission. 

Work Experience 

Robert Kulakowski is a certified home inspector for Cedar Hill Home Inspection, established in 2004. Cedar Hill Home Inspection is a division of Cedar Hill Services, LLC. Bob was trained at the Home Inspection Institute of America and Inspection Training Associates. He has been awarded “Lifetime Certified Home Inspector” from the Home Institute of America, is a Level 1 Certified Thermographer, a Certified TankSure® Inspector and is HERS Energy Audit qualified.

He has advanced training in new home construction, commercial building assessment, home energy auditing & building science, infrared thermal imaging, and radon testing, to name a few.

Bob has passed the National Home Inspection exam, CT Home Inspector exam, CT Radon Proficiency Program exam, completed hundreds of home and commercial inspections and the HERS auditor exam.

Bob holds a State of Connecticut Home Inspector License.

What Experience do you bring to the table?

Political experience: Currently an alternate member of the Simsbury Planning Commission.

Other experience: Bob is a member of the CT Assoc. of Home Inspectors (CAHI), and American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). He is also a member of the Simsbury, West Hartford and Glastonbury chambers of commerce, four-time chairman of the SCoC Home Improvement Show, previous vice president of the SCoC, SCoC leadership and finance committees, and is currently alternate member of the Simsbury Planning Commission.

Why are you running for office

My goals for the Simsbury Planning commission are to promote responsible development both residential and non-residential. Promote “Low Impact Design”, LID, to the town center development and expand the LID to other possible developments in Simsbury.
