Cabbage Night Toilet Papering @ Antonio's Restaurant

October 30th Cabbage Night Activity for All Ages

The Short Version:

The
tradition of Simsbury and Granby residents tossing toilet paper in
trees far precedes our involvement. Yet this year on October 30th, we
will (with your help), set a new record by tossing 801 rolls of toilet paper
in our own trees. (Which we will then clean up every day for at least a
month…or till it snows). Every year we welcome donations of a can of food (for
Foodshare) in exchange for a roll of toilet paper, (but if you forget, we’ll
still give you a roll). We not only welcome, but encourage our extended family
(you and your family) to come down and participate!

For those wondering what the heck Cabbage
Night even is; it is a tradition sometimes referred to as Mischief
Night, and is always on the day before Halloween. When I was younger and the
bridges in Simsbury
used to be one way (for real, and geez do I feel old), the toilet paper in the
bridges was literally beautiful and a real thrill to drive through. Back then
my Mom wanted us to be more supervised so we created the tradition of toilet
papering our own trees. It might sound strange, but it always kept us (as well as our friends) out of
trouble and is actually quite a blast. This year, weather permitting, we will
(with your help), set a new record by tossing over 801 rolls of toilet paper in
our own trees. (Which we will then clean up every day for at least a month…or
till it snows, another part of the tradition my Mom insisted upon). Every year
we welcome donations of a can of food (for Foodshare) in exchange for a roll of
toilet paper, (but if you forget, we’ll still give you a roll).
