Hartford Children’s Theatre’s Carriage House Theatre

Hartford Children’s Theatre presents How I Became a Pirate. The popular children’s book comes to life October 26th through November 11th, 2012 at HCT’s Carriage House Theatre (360 Farmington Avenue, Hartford).

When Braid Beard's pirate crew invites Jeremy Jacob to join their voyage, he jumps right on board. Buried treasure, sea shanties, pirate walk—who wouldn't go along? Soon Jeremy Jacob knows all about being a pirate. He throws his food across the table and his manners to the wind. It's the heave-ho, blow-the-man-down, very best time of his life. Until he finds out what pirates don't do—no reading bedtime stories, no tucking kids in... maybe being a pirate isn't so great after all.  Terrific songs like "A Good One To Boot," "Green Teeth," "I'm Really Just a Sensitive Guy," "You've Got to Talk Like a Pirate,"  "Pirates Dot Aaargh!," and many others will have you  rolling in the aisles and leaving the theater secretly wishing for Braid Beard and the gang to one day pay you a visit.
