PIANO CONCERT: MOON YOUNG YANG
YOUNG ARTISTS COMPETITION WINNER MOON YOUNG YANG: An experienced performer as a soloist and chamber musician, Pianist Moon-Young Yang is one of the most respected young pianists today, admired for her wide and varied repertoire and charismatic stage presence. Born in Seoul, Miss Yang gave her first concert at the age of seven and soon gained recognition by winning numerous national competitions. She pursued her study at Yewon Art School and Seoul Arts High School in South Korea and at the age of 15, she moved to France and continued her studies at the Paris Conservatory where she graduated with highest honors. She extended her sphere to the U.S and recently obtained her Master's Degree at Manhattan School of Music. She is currently working toward her Artist Diploma at Hartt School at University of Hartford as a full scholarship student with Phillip Kawin. Also as an avid chamber musician, Moon Young Yang is currently involved with the Hartt School 20/20 Chamber Group. As a frequent soloist, she has made appearances with the Seoul National Orchestra and given numerous recitals in Paris, Nice, New York and Seoul.
