Westminster School to Present “The Imaginary Cuckold”

The Westminster School Dramat Association will present Molière’s “The Imaginary Cuckold, or Sganarelle” Nov. 8, 9 and 10 at 8 p.m. in the school’s Werner Centennial Center. Doors open at 7:45 p.m.

The play is a model Molière farce of misunderstanding and mistaken identity that grows more tangled with every passing scene. With so many twists, it seems all the knots will never be untied and all the characters reconciled.  The farce, which is played in the classic commedia dell’arte style, is fast, fun and edgy. It integrates the essence of the 17th century with modern day pop culture. It is rated PG-13.

Translated by Richard Wilbur, the production features original music by Westminster’s Director of Music, David Chrzanowski, and lyrics by the school’s Director of Theater, A-men Rasheed.
